Portable Trunked Radio Systems for Hire.

When you hire quantities of conventional walkie talkie radios,

for a large event do you get the following problems ?

1). No privacy.

2). Conversations interrupted by other users on the channel.

3). Repeated calls for people whose radio is turned off, tying up the channel.

4). No certainty that emergency calls can get through.

5). Misheard call signs.

6). Abuse, misbehavior and lack of user discipline.

7). Contention for channel access.

8). Noise and interference.

The Trunked Radio System that we have available for hire solves all these problems, and offers further benefits.

What is Trunked Radio ?

The best way to imagine a Trunked Radio System, is to think of it as a telephone system, with the telephones linked by radio, and operating in a similar manner to a telephone system. Conventional Walkie Talkies operate like a party telephone line, Trunked Radios operate like the telephone in your office, with additional features.

Trunked Radio gives the following facilities :-

1). Fully private individual to individual conversations.

2). Fully private group conversations.

3). Display of the callers identity in the receiving radio.

4). If a radio is turned off, out of range, or a call unanswered, it is dealt with on the "data" channel, and hence is unheard by other users ( and does not annoy them ), and the party who makes the call is aware the recipient is unavailable.

5). Emergency calls are given priority by the system, and if necessary, it will terminate other conversations to ensure that a call for medical, police or security assistance will ALWAYS get through without delay.

6). Telephone / radio interconnect can be made available, together with call barring of users who abuse the radio.

7). Individual radios can be preprogrammed to talk only to certain other users, or to everyone on the fleet.

8). Status calls can be sent to other radios eliminating the need even to speak for certain frequently used messages.

9). Other users can be called by number, or by preprogrammed name which is displayed by the radio.

10). Conventional channels can also be preprogrammed in the radios, to let you talk to existing radio systems on site.

11). Radios can display which group they are responding to i.e. the production manager may wish to have the ability to " hear everything ", his radio ( and others ) can be made to respond to several other groups i.e. site, production, security. When his radio receives a call it either displays the caller Ident, or if a group call to which group it is listening to.

12). Trunked radios can be made to do much more than this ! The facilities are ( almost ) limited only by our imagination.
